OB-Family BeginningsOB—Family Beginnings
Our family-centered maternity care gives parents many choices for their birth experience.

We offer one-on-one Birth Plan by Design and Childbirth Education Classes to prepare for the birth and, while in the hospital, mothers are given individual instructions on how to care for their newborn baby. Our nursery is staffed 24 hours a day by trained OB nurses and is equipped to meet the special needs of the newborn.

At the time of discharge, mothers and fathers are given a complimentary "Celebration of Life Basket" filled with two entrees, homemade bread and cookies, fruit, juices and a variety of items from area businesses and organizations congratulating the parents.

Patient and Family Services
An important part of each patient's recovery is assuring a smooth transition from hospitalization to ongoing care following discharge. Medical social workers work closely with patients, family members, and medical staff to assess patient needs and work with patients and their families to arrange appropriate medical equipment or homecare services.

Patient Education
To help patients and their family members adjust to illness and treatment, the hospital offers many educational programs. Direct patient caregivers work with patients to determine what effect the illness and treatment may have on them. Instructions may be provided on managing medications, nutritional counseling, or other procedures to follow at home.

Pharmacy
All medications for inpatients are safely and efficiently dispensed by the hospital pharmacist. A drug profile is maintained on each patient to assist physicians and nurses with effective drug therapy. Services are provided 24 hours a day.

Respiratory Care
We provide treatments to preserve or improve pulmonary function. Services are available on an inpatient, outpatient, and emergency basis.

Surgical
Our surgical services include a fully equipped surgery suite for inpatient operations and procedures as well as many options for same-day (outpatient) surgical procedures.

Swing Bed Program
Transitional care is provided to patients who have recovered from the acute phase of an illness, but still need skilled care for a period of time before returning home or transferring to a nursing home or other facility.
